I know many of you have already seen this video....but I thought it might be a fun to watch it again. It is a wonderful reminder of the magic of Black & White photography.  However, the main reason I am showing you again, is to remind you about all the ups and downs of the creative process. While I play this video for you, please think about the following question and write down your responses while it plays:

1. What are the benefits of the creative process? Why does the narrator do what he does? What does he get out of it? Why is it worth it to him. 
2. What are the negative aspects of the creative process? What is difficult or frustrating about it? Why?
3. Is it worth it in the end?

This is excellent example of an "A" and what I expect to see in each of your books

Above:

• The test strip varies from light to dark and the times are marked down
• There is a mini self-reflection at the bottom

• An interesting and effective way of documenting trial and error (the learning process)

• Final print is clearly labelled
• Exposure time and filter also documented
• Other (not-quite-right) copies pasted in book with reflection

Successful Contact Sheets

Over-developed film = Dense negatives
